HL Robotics, a subsidiary of HL Holdings, will acquire the MSTG (Mobility & Smart Technology Group) division from HL Mando. This strategic move consolidates the Group’s core robotics capabilities under one roof, aiming to enhance R&D and operational efficiency. Mando’s parking and patrol robots are expected to accelerate their global expansion by leveraging the distribution network, sales, and marketing capabilities of Stanley Robotics—the world’s leading autonomous parking robot company, recently acquired by HL Robotics.
According to industry sources on the 18th, HL Mando’s board of directors recently approved the transfer of the MSTG division to HL Robotics.
The business transfer is expected to be completed by January next year, and core software R&D personnel will also be transferred. The MSTG division was established in 2021 as a dedicated business unit to develop autonomous mobility solutions, building on HL Mando’s internal engineering capabilities. The division has been led by Vice President Seongho Choi, HL Mando’s CTO, known for pioneering Korea’s first domestically developed ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) in the 1990s.
With overlapping initiatives following the establishment of HL Robotics in September as the Group’s dedicated robotics entity, this integration is seen as a strategy to scale the business more effectively. The move is also expected to strengthen HL Robotics’ competitiveness through agile decision-making and clear accountability in new business development.

This business restructuring strengthens HL Holdings’ focus on future growth areas. The global parking robot market is projected to reach KRW 9 trillion by 2030. Demand is rising in logistics hubs, ports, and large-scale buildings due to the robots' ability to streamline the movement and loading of vehicles and cargo. Major players such as Hyundai WIA and Sampyo Group are also entering the market.
